Veneto is Italy's largest wine producing region and also its biggest producer of DOC wine. It is home to two of Italy's best known exports, Soave and Valpolicella. Vineyards hug the foothills of the Dolomites from Lake Garda across to the river Piave north of Venice. The most intense plantings encircle Verona. Valpolicella is the second most important red DOC after Chianti. The vineyards lie in a band north of Verona on limestone and granite slopes, planted with the Corvina grape.  Bardolino is similar to Valpolicella but is produced from grapes grown on a glacial moraine boarding Lake Garda. Soave DOC is quantitatively Italy's most important white wine. Prosecco has enjoyed a remarkable renaissance in popularity in recent years. There are delimited regions: Prosecco DOC which covers a wide area of the Veneto and Friuly, and the higher quality Conegliano-Valdobbiadenne DOCG area.

Day 1: Your arrival in Verona

We pick up you at the airtport or railway station and conduce you to your hotel. You'll install in a very confortable hotel in the center of an ancient and touristic town and then you'll walk in the small streets of this very beautiful historical city. Dinner in a gourmet restaurant.

Day 2: Valpolicella & Amarone Wine

bassano del grappaValpolicella, which means "valley of many cellars", is home to a series of red grapes, most of which have unclear origins and are rarely found elsewhere in Italy. Corvina, a dark-berried, thick-skinned variety, is the principal grape in red Valpolicella Classico DOC wines, forming the backbone of the blend with its firm tannins and rich, smokly, red-cherry scent. Arrival at Pedemonte and visit to the Stefano Accordini winery. Where you can visit the vineyards and the cellar, finally wine tasting. Light lunch at a local restaurant. Driving, on the afternoon, along the hills where you can see the different type of vineyard. We'll visit celebrated vineyards where Amarone di Valpolicella DOCG is made. Its method of production dates back to Roman times. Prosecco is one of the most famous sparkling wines produced in Italy, and is well known for its fruity aromas and its charming unpretentiousness. In the Veneto, the locals pair their beloved Prosecco with many types of dishes, and on its own for a pleasant aperitivo. It is not uncommon to find wine estates in Tuscany that have been in family ownership for more than five centuries. Here, more than anywhere, the ancient civilisations of italy appear to have ceded little to the passage of time. The region's ravishing coutryside has attracting tourists since a long time and the landscapes of cypress trees, ochre hills, vineyards and olive groves appear like in a painting of Renaissance. Like everywhere else, quality can vary enormously but the best wines have an aristocratic bearing not found elsewhere.

Day 1: Your arrival in Florence

We pick up you at the airtport or railway station and conduce you to your hotel. You'll install in a very confortable hotel in the center of an ancient and touristic town and then you'll walk in the small streets of this very beautiful medieval city. Dinner in a gourmet restaurant.

The most famous of all Tuscan wines is Chianti, a red wine produced in the higher part of Tuscany region. Chianti is made from the Sangiovese grape, which has elements of fruit and spices, and varies greatly in quality. There is a distinction between Chianti and Chianti Classico – wines from the latter being produced in a region known for producing ‘Chianti’ prior to the new 1932 classification. It is often felt that these wines are of a higher standard. We suggest you a tour in the heart of the Chianti Classico area. A charming trip through the beautiful hills of Chianti area will allow us to visit and tasting the finest wines of two selected wineries. We have a light lunch in a little village and return on the evening to the hotel at Florence. (Dinner at your own).

We also have the opportunity to meet the owners of the wineries who will be proud to explain the wine making process and will lead you to the wine tasting of Brunello DOCG and Rosso di Montalcino DOC wines. We have a fine lunch with traditional meals of Tuscany.

And the afternoon, we visit other casa vinicola in the south part of Tuscany with the famous Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG produced around the town of Montepulciano to the east of Montalcino. It matures more quickly but lacks the finesse of Brunello. Return on the evening to your hotel at Florence. (Diner at your own).

Day 4: Vernaccia di San Giminiano

san giminianoToday's tour is for people who are interested in discovering the red of Tuscany along with the famous white Vernaccia di San Gimignano.
