• Beaujolais Maison Loron & Fils

The Loron family have owned the Domaine des Billards in Saint-Amour since 1817 and have always been passionate about their land. With the Domaine de la Vieille Eglise in Juliénas, Château de Fleurie, Domaine Barbet at Moulin-à-Vent, Château de la Pierre in Brouilly and Régnié, we possess more than 90 hectares of vines.

For many years, Maison Loron have had an exceptional reputation thanks to their winemaking savoir-faire.
For the white wines - this includes plot selection, precise control of the pressing process and maturation in our ageing warehouses either à la Bourguignonne in oak casks with bâtonnage for the Pouilly Fuissé or in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats for the wines from Mâcon and Saint Véran.

For the red wines - in 1998 we created the Cellier de la Vauxonne, a modern ageing warehouse in Beaujolais. Long term contracts with more than 50 winegrowers, agronomical assistance and a meticulous grape selection have made this venture a great success both qualitatively and commercially.

n order to master the art of wine maturation and ageing, it is essential to have a scientific knowledge of the biological and physical processes involved. The use of precise analytical methods allows us to follow the creation and ageing of our wines in complete security. During the maturation period a laboratory service is available twelve hours a day, seven days a week and the results of tastings and tests are available within half a day. This has ensured the success of the laboratory "Vigne et Vin Conseils".

  • Vallée du Rhône : Château Unang

Chateau Unang lies among the foothills of Mont Ventoux, in the heart of Provence. This ancient estate, dating from the 9th century, sits alone surrounded
by its own forest and facing the Plateau of Vaucluse.

Here James and Joanna King create a range of wines that give full expression to the exceptional terroir at Chateau Unang, situated in the southern Rhone within
the Cotes du Ventoux appellation (A.O.C.).

The vineyards are south-facing and are between 220 and 300 metres above sea level (undergoing its transformation to organic production).

Even this difference in altitudes creates a three-week longer growing season for red grape varieties, on the highest ground, as against the white grape varieties lower down the hillside.

    T
he vines are planted on various types of clay and limestone soils, and benefit   from the strong northerly Mistral wind that airs their leaves – helping to keep the vines dry and healthy through the growing season.

    W
ith no vineyards surrounding the estate, only forest, the risk of infection from other vines is greatly reduced.
